purring pantherDo black panthers purr or not?

I tried looking in google, but nada. I really need to know, most likely from an experienced person that actually had contact with them; do they purr or only roar? Or maybe only the cubs purr?
no, big cats do not purr. they chuff to show they like something and as a greeting..its kinda like a bark.

cheetahs make more of little barks and yips and chpurring pantherirps.

i originally believed they purred as well but i was entirely incorrect. no big cat purrs.

ADD:

also just for the heck id like to add something even odder about cheetahs. they are the ONLY big cat whose claws do not retract, they use it to make them go even faster and when they run by you can hear those claws digging in to the earth .
Ipurring panther always thought that big cats do purr, and the official difference between big cats and small cats is that big cats purr only when they exhale, but small cats purr on the inhalation and the exhalation.

But you made me wonder and I looked it up and I found this (scroll down past the ads for the answer):

Looks like science is still undecided!
